Hard to believe it is already mid June! Tomorrow I fly down to Orlando bright and early to spend five days at the University of Central Florida to work with the great George N. Parks Drum Major Academy for my second consecutive summer on IMPACT Team. It’s amazing to look back and realize that this will be my fourth summer involved with the Academy and even today I find myself wanting for more. I cannot wait to work with the fantastic staff and young drum majors for the next few days to learn, grow, and offer aid wherever I can. I truly could not be more thankful to have this opportunity once again.
I am also pleased to announce that for the third consecutive summer I will be working with Rob Dahlin and his three week summer band program!
In MSU news the official first mailing of the Spartan Marching Band came out! I’m so excited to head back later this summer and join up with all of my fellow Spartans!
But in more somber news, my thoughts are with MSU Colorguard director Orlando Suttles. Unfortunately his medical condition is grave. While I have not had the opportunity to work with him very directly, I know that his instruction has brought much joy to many of my friends and Sisters of Tau Beta Sigma in the Spartan Marching Band. The flyer below is a benefit fund set up in lieu of flowers. The organization will be administered by the Michigan Color Guard Circuit. It would mean a lot to me and much of the SMB if anyone reading would take a look.
Until after DMA everyone!
